From the fruits of the Viciolo (or Visciolo), a variety of cherrytree that grows spontaneously on the Apennines, we create this Ratafia of VIciole, typical of the old herbal tradition. The name Ratafia or Ratafià refers to the Latin formula “rata fiat” used to seal an agreement with a toast made with this liqueur. The cold infusion concerns the fruit of the plant and takes place, without boiling, in Montepulciano DOC d’Abruzzo, a hot and very full-bodied wine, which contributes to give the finished product a marked density and an unmistakable red color. The liqueur thus obtained has a fruity aftertaste and an unique flavor.
